EJOT apprentice Marius Latt is national winner

Machine and systems operator exam passed with 98 out of 100 points.

A-levels or industrial-technical training? Marius Latt decided to do an apprenticeship at EJOT after his Abitur at the Johannes-Althusius-Gymnasium in Bad Berleburg. Even more so in a profession that has only existed for a few years: Production IT specialist, a combination of the professions machine and system operator and IT specialist for system integration developed at EJOT at the practical demand. The 19-year-old has passed the first part with flying colours: Marius Latt is not only the state winner of NRW as a machine and systems operator but also the national winner. In his final examination, he achieved the grade "very good" with 98 out of 100 points.

He has always been interested in technology, not only because he likes to tinker with his moped, says Marius Latt, who lives in the Müsse district of Bad Berleburg. According to the 19-year-old, he had no problems learning the subject matter during his training. He has optimal conditions in the learning workshop at EJOT. His achievement is all the higher because he completed the training within one year instead of two years. The subsequent training to become an IT specialist for system integration is also shortened by one year (two years instead of three).

Congratulations for this outstanding achievement also come from Christian Kocherscheidt, managing partner of the EJOT Group, as well as from head of training Andreas Kurth. Christian Kocherscheidt emphasises that it is good that in the course of the continuing high academisation, Marius Latt, a high school graduate, has decided in favour of industrial-technical training and against studying, and is thus taking a successful path for his professional career. "Very good performance in training also benefits the quality of our products," Kocherscheidt continues. As a company, EJOT is an advocate of dual training, which has a long tradition in Germany and is the envy of many in other countries. "We have certified specialists in Germany and not self-appointed specialists." In the end, he said, this makes the difference and contributes quite significantly to strengthening the business location or the products manufactured in Germany.

"I am very happy that Marius Latt will stay with us in the long term after his apprenticeship and will directly complete another apprenticeship as an IT specialist with us," emphasises Andreas Kurth.

INFO: Production IT Specialist

With the profession of production IT specialist, EJOT has developed a unique training concept. The fact that this works in practice is shown by the graduations so far and the internal demand. The considerable reduction in time from five to three years with the same scope of learning also seems to be feasible. The combined training is the perfect analogy to the academic study of business informatics. The standard training period for the two training occupations is shortened by one year each. The total training time is three years. In the first year of training, the apprenticeship as a machine and plant operator takes place. In the second and third year of training, the shortened training as an IT specialist for system integration takes place. In order to be able to shorten the standard training periods for the two training occupations by one year each, the IHK guideline requires a general university entrance qualification or a technical college entrance qualification.
