The ladies of the EJOT Team TV Buschhütten have won the 9th Championship title in a row at the last competition of the 1st Bitburger 0,0% Triathlon-Bundesliga in Saarbrücken. And they also won the day. The men's team, on the other hand, was unable to defend its title and had to admit defeat to Hylo Team Saar in Saarbrücken. The victory was narrow: Hylo Team Saar secured the Championship title with 78 points thanks to the better place cipher (i.e. the addition of the individual results), followed by the EJOT Team TV Buschhütten with the same points. The EJOT Team was German Champion nine times in a row. Every series comes to an end, and even the best can lose sometimes.
Overall, however, Rainer Jung, Sports Director Triathlon at “TV Buschhütten”, was very satisfied with the season: "Our goal at the beginning of the season was to bring two German Championship titles to Buschhütten. Almost one million poeple watched the first German Championship title in the Team Mixed Relay in Berlin on TV. The second German Championship was won by our Ladies Team in Saarbrücken who showed an outstanding performance. Part of the team is the current German Champion, Lisa Tertsch. With two titles, we have thus achieved our goal for the season."
The fact that the men's team "only" just managed to finish as Vice Champion in the German Championships was initially somewhat disappointing. "But if you take a closer look, our men also had a very good season with two victories in the National League Competitions in Potsdam and Nuremberg and difficult conditions in Saarbrücken."
